Prudhoe Bee Bed & Ladybird Bed

The Bee Bed outside the entrance to the Co-op has become a much-loved and valued raised planter since being re-planted in 2024. With a focus on plants for pollinators that benefit a range of insects and wildlife while also providing colour and interest throughout the year, the Bee Bed is a lovely place for people of all ages to sit a while and take in the scents, colours and sounds.

Spring 2026 will see Prudhoe Space for Nature extending this, and taking on the adjacent raised planter, beside the ATM machine, to provide a much more colourful and scented variety of plants, attractive for us, pollinators and other wildlife. This bed will have a Ladybird sculpture and planting that will be beneficial to and encourage ladybirds, and will be called the Ladybird Bed!
